good morning/afternoon/evening, ladies and gentleman, thank you for being on time / making the effort to come today. let me introduce myself first. my name is...

i am pleased to be able to welcome you to our company... / may i take this opportunity of thanking you for coming. i"m...

i"d like to thank you for inviting/asking me / giving me the chance to...

i am grateful for the opportunity to present...

i am delighted/pleased/glad to have the opportunity to present / of making this presentation...

thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell you about...

the subject of my presentation is...

today we are here to talk about... before we start, i"d like you meet my team members...

before we start our presentation, let"s take a brief look at the agenda...

i won"t take up more than ten minutes of your time.

i don"t intend to speak for longer than ten minutes.

i know that time is short, so i intend to keep this brief.

my presentation will help solve a problem that has puzzled people for years...

i am going to be talking about a product that could double your profit margins...

over the ne_t ten minutes you are going to hear about something that will change the way your companies operate...

at the end of this presentation you will understand why this company has been so successful for so long...

1. start your speech with… a testimonial

cite the behavior of a celebrity and/or quote an influential person the audience will know of or respect.

2. start your speech with… evidence

present statistics or other data on the importance of public speaking.

3. start your speech with… an anecdote

tell a story of someone directly affected by the benefits of public speaking.

4. start your speech with… a statement

make a bold observation on the importance of public speaking.

5. start your speech with… an e_ample

cite a person whose career really took off because of public speaking.

think testimonial, e_ample, anecdote, statement, and evidence for the ne_t speech you write. and dive in!

6.my message to all of you today is this: do not waste a minute living someone else’s dream," she said. "it takes a lot of real work to discover what brings you joy ... and you won"t find what you love simply by checking bo_es or padding your gpa.

1. the following are my opinions, and do not reflect the opinions or policies of any particular prosecutor"s office.

i am a prosecutor. i believe in law and order. i am the adopted son of a police officer, a marine and a hairdresser. i believe in accountability and that we should all be safe in our communities. i love my job and the people that do it. i just think that it"s our responsibility to do it better...

2. we are losing our listening. we spend roughly 60 percent of our communication time listening, but we"re not very good at it. we retain just 25 percent of what we hear. now -- not you, not this talk, but that is generally true.

let"s define listening as making meaning from sound. it"s a mental process, and it"s a process of e_traction...

3. there are things we say when we catch the eye of a stranger or a neighbor walking by. we say, "hello, how are you? it"s a beautiful day. how do you feel?" these sound kind of meaningless, right? and, in some ways, they are. they have no semantic meaning. it doesn"t matter how you are or what the day is like. they have something else. they have social meaning. what we mean when we say those things is: i see you there...

a hundred years ago today a man died. he died immortal. he departed laden with years, laden with works, laden with the most illustrious and the most fearful or responsibilities, the responsibility of the human conscience informed and rectifies. he went cursed and blessed, cursed by the past, blessed by the future; and these are two super forms of glory. on the deathbed he had, on the one hand, the acclaim of contemporaries and of posterity; on the other, that triumph of hooting and of hating which the implacable past bestows on those who have combated it. he was more than a man was; he was an age. he had e_ercised functions and fulfilled a mission. he had been evidently chosen for the work, which he had done by the supreme will, which manifests itself as visibly in the laws of destiny as in the laws of nature.

the eighty-four years, which this man lived, span the interval between the monarchy at its apogee and the revolution at its dawn. whence was born, luis _iv still reigned; when he died, louis of _vi already wore crown; so that his cradle saw the last rays of the great throne, and his coffin the first gleams from the great abyss.

mr. chairman, e_cellencies, ladies and gentlemen,

i should like first of all, to once again thank the norwegian nobel committee for the award they have made to the united nations peace-keeping operations. their decision has been acclaimed all over the world. i take this opportunity also to e_press once again my deep gratitude to the countries, which have contributed troops or provided logistical support to these operations. it is to their willing co-operation that we owe the success of this great e_periment in conflict control.

peace─the word evokes the simplest and most cherished dream of humanity. peace is, and has always been, the ultimate human aspiration. and yet our history overwhelmingly shows that while we speak incessantly of peace, our aquinas tells a very different story.

peace is an easy word to say in any language. as secretary-general of the united nations i hear it so frequently from so many different mouths and different sources, that it sometimes seems to me to be general incantation more or less deprived of practical meaning. what we really mean by peace?

(三)結(jié)尾要簡潔有力,余音繞梁。結(jié)尾是演講內(nèi)容的自然收束。言簡意賅、余音繞梁的結(jié)尾能夠使聽眾精神振奮,并促使聽眾不斷地思考和回味;

the opening of a speech is one of its two most important parts. there are many great ways to begin, and for each great beginning, there is an equally awful opening. so in todays newsletter, we will look at five awful ways to begin a speech, and counter them with 10 great ways to begin instead.here are five awful ways to begin a speech:

here are five awful ways to begin a speech(下面是幾個比較糟糕的演講開場白):

1、"hi there, im happy to be here..." please! this is the most bland, boring, badly overused speech openings. dont waffle: just start!

2、"im very nervous right now..." who cares? when you announce that you arent at your best, you are automatically setting e_pectations that you will be bad. even if you do the best speech of your life, they will leave thinking to themselves: i wonder how much better it would have been if he/she had been feeling good.

3、"did you hear the one about..." dont begin with a joke, period. jokes are rarely related to the topic at hand. they are only there to make people laugh, which causes people to wonder: "what was the point of that joke?"

4、"here is a story you all know..." stay away from stories that everyone has told, unless you bring a twist to it.

5、"the great philosopher a. nonymous once said..." use quotes, but not at the beginning of your speech.

these five great ways to open a speech will make you stand out from the bunch(下面的演講開場白會讓你在演講中脫穎而出):

1、"doctors are appro_imately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners." did that get your attention? i sure hope so! begin by startling your audience.

2、"once upon a time..." tell a story. everyone loves a good story, especially if it is one that people dont e_pect, and one that is told e_ceptionally well. begin with a story that is related to the topic; dont tell a story just for the sake of it.

3、"please raise your hand if you..." get them to participate immediately, the idea is to get the audience moving and doing something very quickly. your worst enemy is stillness. so get them moving as often and as early as possible.

4、"remember the last time you..." establish contact early. your goal is to get the audience to think of themselves and to feel something related to your topic. then, you can build on it. make sure it is an e_perience most people have shared.

5、"......................" silence is golden. before uttering a single word, wait a few seconds. stand in silence in front of the audience, for five or ten seconds if you can stand it. then start with a bang.

here are five ways to begin a speech in an unusual, yet captivating manner(下面這五種開場白可以使得你的演講有種一種不尋常,但是很吸引人的方式):

1、"to speak for your ears, i have overcome fears, to silence your groans, my skills i have honed." start with a poem or a rhyme. pick a poem that is short, lively, and related to your theme or your message.

2、start your speech with a song. ideally, you want to sing on key. but if you cannot hold a tune, think of it as a great start to a humorous speech!

3、use an audio entrance. pre-record the first lines of your speech to set the tone. take care, though, that your recording sounds professional and not tinny, otherwise you will get a negative effect.

4、blow up a balloon. or do something equally une_pected. catch the audience off guard. make sure nobody is drinking hot liquid when you do this.

5、perform a magic trick. there are many easy magic tricks you can find online. take the audience by surprise and make it entertaining from the start.

the two most important parts of a speech are the introduction and the conclusion. the introduction sets the tone for your speech, while the conclusion determines how the audience will feel when they leave. dont set yourself up for failure from the start: drop these awful openings from your repertoire. instead, replace them with an opening that sets you apart and readies you to deliver a great speech.

“so what brings you here ”你就可以這么問?;蚴?,如果你在你朋友bob的派隊,你就可以問“how do you know bob ”

“what a wonderful dress you’re wearing!” 在那之后,如果他們只回答說“thank you”,你就可以接著問,類似“where did you get it ”或是“what’s it made out of ”甚至是“was it e_pensive ”這些問題非常有用因為這可以讓對方多告訴你一些關(guān)于他們的事。

幾乎所有的人多有工作,那么為什么不問這個人,“so what do you do for a living ”或是“where are you from originally ”意思是你想了解他們是在哪里出生的。

不要僅僅說,“hi, my name is john.” “hi, my name is john. i’m a friend of bob’s from high school. we use to have the same math class together.”

不要直接問任何關(guān)于對方的問題,你可以說類似“this is a great party”或“what a lovely house this is.”

boys and girls:

we are very happy to gather here to hold an english. first of all, let us enjoy the brought about by the an lu-story, the story of the name 《 》。welcome to applause.。

good! so you want to story? you want to have a happy time? here, gu yu _iao would like to tell you an interesting story i hope you like it, its name is 《 》

listen to a good story, let us play an interesting game. his name is hard words.

word games so that together we have strengthened the memory of the word, let us play following an english word games.

the "english abc" the end of this activity, students, and good-bye!
