視情況選推薦人

專家告訴記者，推薦信切忌寫得過長，一般來說500～800英文字以內是比較理想的篇幅，能排在一張a4信紙，并上下留出寫抬頭和簽名的充足空間。另外，最好用推薦信印有推薦人單位(學校、公司)名稱的信封和信紙，并用激光打印機打印。教授推薦函中要注明教授的電話號碼，所在系及學校地址，并用學校正規(guī)信簽紙?有學校名稱信頭的信紙?打印出來。信上需打印出教授姓名的漢語拼音，并請教授簽名。推薦信可以和申請表一起寄出，但要記住在信封正面寫上推薦人和對方學校的聯(lián)系地址，以便核查。
推薦信的完整格式
一封推薦信除了信頭、發(fā)信日期、收信人姓名、稱呼、信尾謙稱、簽名、推薦人姓名、職務等必需部分之外，正文內容說明應包括下列各項：被推薦者的簽名——為便于對方查詢，被推薦者的簽名僅寫mr wang或miss zhang是不夠的。用標準的漢語拼音或英文拼法都可以，但必須由被推薦者自己提供，且前后必須一致。認識被推薦者的時間(how long have you know him/her)——何時開始認識，或認識了多久。認識程度(how well do you know him/her)——是偶爾見面還是關系密切，或僅教過一年還是擔任其導師。與被推薦人的關系(relationship)——師生關系，上、下級領導關系等。被推薦人的表現(xiàn)(performance)——學習上、生活上、課堂上和課外活動上的表現(xiàn)。結論意見——愿意推薦或不愿意推薦，無保留或有所保留的推薦、普通推薦或極力推薦，必須明確，當然極力推薦為最好。以上六項是任何一封推薦信所必須包括的，缺其中任意一項則都會失去函件應有的功能或會大大降低推薦的效果。
社交、親友這間的相互介紹，常用介紹信聯(lián)系。收信人從介紹信中可以了解到來者是什么人，要辦什么事，有什么具體要求等。
寫這類書要注意慎重、謙恭。在信封左下角常寫有to introduce ……或introducing……,信封一般不封。
